Videoconferencing
with the Higuchi Biosciences Center
The Higuchi Biosciences Center videoconference equipment has the ability to link with videoconference sites through IP or ISDN transmission or a combination of both. We are able to link with as many as three external sites simultaneously, and we can transmit PowerPoint, other computer programs, or document camera through either transmission media.

HBC participants/HBC related activities
HBC participants/Non-HBC related activities
- No charge for IP access
- Charge for share of monthly access costs - $27 per event
- Charge for staff time in setting up/overseeing conference - $25 per hour
KU staff (non HBC participants)
- No charge for IP access
- Charge for equipment usage - $100 per event
- Charge for share of monthly access costs - $27 per event
- Charge for staff time in setting up/overseeing conference - $25 per hour
An event is four hours or less in length. An all day conference would be 2 events.
Definitions
- Sponsoring users - activities directly funded by or related to COBRE 1, COBRE 2 or the Program Project in Aging.
- HBC related activities - activities directly related to sponsored research administered by the HBC or development of proposals, which will be submitted through the HBC.
- IP – transmission of videoconference through data lines - the other site or sites that you connect to determine which type of videoconference you will have
