New Appointments Announced at the HBC
Christine Boller has been hired as our new Grant Proposal Specialist. Christine previously worked at the Slone Epidemiology Unit at Boston University. She has a bachelor’s degree in life sciences from Kansas State University. Christine Boller replaces Richard Walker who moved to Seattle, Washington.
Deborah Bohlander has been hired as a Laboratory Assistant in the laboratory of Kathy Suprenant. Deborah received a bachelor’s degree in cytotechnology at the University of Kansas Medical Center.
Shawn Farmer has joined the staff of the Center for Bioanalytical Research, assisting in bioanalytical chemistry methods development. Farmer obtained a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from the University of Kansas.
Tatyana Yarovleva, Ph.D., has been hired as a Postdoctoral Research Associate to work in the laboratory of Teruna Siahaan. Dr. Yarovleva received her Ph.D. in chemistry of polymers from the Lomonosov Institute of Fine Chemical Technology, Moscow.
Peter Silverstein, Ph.D., has been hired as a Postdoctoral Research Associate conducting Taxol-related research in the laboratory of Kenneth Audus. Dr. Silverstein received his Ph.D. from the department of patho-biology, College of Veterinarian Medicine, Auburn University. Previously, Dr. Silverstein was a Post-doctoral Fellow at Marion Merrell Dow Laboratory of Viral Pathogenesis, University of Kansas Medical Center.
Sunil A. David, Ph.D., has joined the laboratory of Gunda Georg as a Postdoctoral Research Associate. Dr. David received his Ph.D. from the MGR University in Tamil Nadu, India. Dr. David has experience in the fields of immunology and microbiology.
Tan Wenbin, Ph.D., has been hired as a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the laboratory of Rick Dobrowsky. Dr. Wenbin received his Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the Hunan Medical University, Hunam China.
Anbanandam Asokan, Ph.D., has joined the laboratory of Jeffrey Urbauer as a Postdoctoral Research Associate. Dr. Asokan received his Ph.D. in chemistry from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, India. Previously, Dr. Asokan worked at the University of California-Davis where he performed NMR studies on paramagnetic proteins under the direction of Professor Gerd LeMar.
Michael Chumley, Ph.D., has been hired as a Postdoctoral Research Associate. He will be working in the laboratory of Rick Dobrowsky. Dr. Chumley received his Ph.D. in immunology from the National Jewish Medical Center and University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in Denver. n
