ETP Meeting Reviews COBRE Projects

The third meeting of the Experimental Therapeutics Program, Kansas Cancer Institute, was held at the Higuchi Biosciences Center, in Lawrence, on September 22. Dr. Peter Wipf, professor of chemistry at the University of Pittsburgh, the keynote speaker at the meeting, talked about "The Pittsburgh Experience" with regard to organizing a cancer center. In addition to several presentations from clinicians at the University of Kansas Medical Center, there were a number of scientific presentations related to the COBRE grant’s cores and projects. (See related article about the COBRE grant "Largest Science Grant in KU History.") Approximately 60 members of the Experimental Therapeutics Program group attended the day-long meeting.
