KTEC Appoints New President

In May, Kansas City-area businessman and entrepreneur Tracy Taylor was selected as president and CEO of Kansas Technology Enterprise Corporation. KTEC is a state-owned corporation established in 1987 to stimulate technology-based economic development in the State of Kansas.

In late 2001, a search committee began to look for a candidate to replace Rich Bendis, who left KTEC to head Innovation Philadelphia. "We received more than 200 resumes and we discovered, as is often the case, that the best-qualified talent was in our own backyard," said Jim Dahmen, chairman of the KTEC board. "This was the case with Tracy Taylor, who brings a wealth of entrepreneurial talent, risk investment experience and organizational leadership to KTEC."

Taylor's history and experience with Kansas and KTEC is extensive. He was a KTEC board member for nearly seven years.
