New Assistant Director of CDDR
A native of Melbourne, Australia, Michelle McIntosh said she loves living in the United States, specifically Kansas, because of all the places she and her husband have been able to travel. But primarily, the new assistant director of Center for Drug Delivery Research appreciates opportunities her new home provides her for pharmaceutical research.
"With all the life sciences initiatives going on here and in the Kansas City area, this is an exciting place to be," she said.
Employed by the Higuchi Biosciences Center since October of 1999, McIntosh's primary area of research is preclinical evaluation of novel compounds. She also is exploring targeted delivery technologies as well. As assistant director of CDDR she assists acting director Roger Rajewski, supervises post-doc research assistants, and manages the lab.
McIntosh completed both her Ph.D. in pharmaceutics and her bachelor's degree in pharmacy from Victorian College of Pharmacy in Melbourne.
