Faculty Chairs Announced

Two faculty members affiliated with the Higuchi Biosciences Center have been appointed to serve as chairs of their respective departments. Craig Lunte will chair the KU Department of Chemistry. Lunte joined the chemistry department staff in 1987 and became a full professor in 1997. He has been affiliated with the Higuchi Biosciences Center since 1987 and is a Fellow in the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists.

Bala Subramaniam has been named Chair of the Department of Chemical and Petroleum Engineering in the School of Engineering. Subramaniam, Dan F. Servey Distinguished Professor of Chemical and Petroleum Engineering. Subramaniam joined the department in 1985. He has been affiliated with the Higuchi Biosciences Center throughout the 1990's. He has received the Gould Award for teaching and the Miller Award for research from the School of Engineering, as well as the ASEE Dow Outstanding Young Faculty award.
